Saint Johns (St. Johns, MI) is a city located in Clinton County, and became the county seat in 1904. It is a small town 24 miles north of Lansing.
St. Johns and Clinton County is primarily agricultural based. Peppermint and spearmint is unique to the area and with 5,000 acres farmed, it's the largest producer of mint in the state. In celebration of the mint production, St. Johns hosts an annual Mint Festival. The Mint Festival is held the second weekend of August each year and provides the entire family with an action-packed weekend. Held at the City Park and County Fairgrounds, over 75,000 people attend.
St. Johns boasts one of the top school systems in the area, known statewide for its theatre and fine arts department.
Waverly is an unincorporated community in Eaton County, west of Lansing. It is served by Delta Charter Township and is commonly referred to as Delta Township. The Waverly area is adjacent to the City of Lansing and Lansing Charter Township. It has no legal status as a municipality but is home to residential neighborhoods, retail establishments and Waverly Community Schools. The Waverly area of Lansing boasts such subdivision communities as Mar Moor Estates, Cambridge Manor, Oak Ridge, Verndale Lakes and River Ridge Subdivisions. The Grand Pointe Subdivision, although located in Dimondale, falls within the Waverly School District and offers gorgeous riverfront homes overlooking the Grand River. Delta Township offers beautiful parks for nature lovers from Hawk Meadows to Woldumar Nature Center, excellent for walking trails, natural green spaces and wildlife.
